Given that the 056 is only likely to be active in the waters of the near abroad and given that surely the PLA; especially throughout the disputed/occupied reefs of the SCS etc, will have built a complex network of Sonar Buoys and listening devices throughout, is it not most likely that rather than take up valuable limited space with its own listening systems, it will simply be cued via data link from the coastal defence systems?

The PLAN isn't all that interested in establishing a SOSUS style underwater sonar system because of the static nature of such networks. They work fine in peacetime, but a few well placed explosive devices can cripple or take the whole thing down if war breaks out. If you get too used to relying on such a network to do the hard work in peace time, you can be at a server disadvantage if war actually breaks out and the system gets taken down in the opening stages.
