With an EO sensor turret and presumably the option to sync the gun controls to the turret and/or other shipborne sensors, I do wonder if these guns have some secondary CIWS capability to supplement the HQ10s and AK up front.

I have been looking for a much closer and more detailed pic of this weapon system.
It looks like a very good close in defensive system. Proabably not too good againt aircraft or missiles...but certainly against small craft or FACs that come in close. Great for anti piracy, anti-terror, anti-drug, etc. I would have made the barrell longer for the positives that brings, but it is probably not needed given the missions this craft will preform anyway.
Very similar in form and function to the automated version of the US Mk-38 system.
HP#1 has been with SSF in Yulin for a while now, it's much, much longer than any sea trials we've seen so maybe they found no problem with it whatsoever and PLAN just outright accepted it. I would say at least the lead boat from HD and HP will be in HK by early summer.
Correction: HP#1 just returned from the month long sea trial.

It's interesting, they also have another single-barrel 30 mm gun that doesn't have the same level of onboard sensors that they use for the MCM ships. This one is for 056 and the AORs.
