Why would you need technical military details for a politics course? Isn't it enough to say "big new Chinese ship, improves PLA hard power, blah blah blah." Surely political decisionmaking would be far more in focus?

Highly doubt that professor of that types can tell apart what sensor China is using. Just say Type 346B radar system should be sufficient. These are on wikipedia.

Seems like the report pretty much writes the paper for you without having to click through to each system and go down the wikipedia rabbit hole. The info there is generally inline with wikipedia and other nonclassified sources.

Most ROTC classes I took had this. I was Army but I did sit in the Naval Warfare classes. Basically lectures, CMANO and research.
That is a straight-faced espionage. At least you should try to walk some circles to trick some knowledgable people to unknowingly give the information.
