Actually we saw both in different places. sometimes CNS, sometimes PLANS. It seems there's no official regulation. The prefix for PLAN ships is PLANS? Personally I prefer CNS.
Sometimes PLAN, sometimes just CS. From the look of it that totally depends on taste of captain/flotilla commander.Actually we saw both in different places. sometimes CNS, sometimes PLANS. It seems there's no official regulation.
It is silly to think a mere captain or even an admiral is authorized to make such decisions.Sometimes PLAN, sometimes just CS. From the look of it that totally depends on taste of captain/flotilla commander.
Instance I mentioned are all sighted on the boarding bridge during port calls in various foreign nations and there seems to be no sign of any pattern of consistency. So if there is really a "HUGE" difference that require higher up to decide maybe you can read the leaf for me as I have absolutely no clue.It is silly to think a mere captain or even an admiral is authorized to make such decisions.
There is a HUGE night-and-day difference in meaning (at least to legalists). PLA = the armed branch of the Communist Party. C<XXX>= China's national military.
Technically PLA is correct as its mission is not yet complete. China started using "China Navy" and "China Air Force" on shoulder patches a few years back to align better with international conventions however structurally the military is still controlled by the Party, not by the civil government.
