Good to see you still posting Jeff.

055 unit one began sea trials about 13 months after it was launched. I expect 055 unit two (from JN) to begin sea trials sometime next May going by a similar timeline. I expect 055 units three and four (from DL) to begin sea trials in the second half of 2019 at the earliest.

At the moment I think the speed is fine and consistent with what was done for 052Ds

we have had 4 launched in 18 months

thats 2-3 per year

thats same rate as Type 054A considering its 2.5 times the tonnage thats impressive the rate

Yeah this build program is no joke. I doubt anyone expected the Chinese to build the Type 055 at this rate.
Almost makes one believe the rumour that the Type 055 would replace the Type 052D in future construction.
