055 next to a Yuan Wang 5 (YW-5), which has a length of over 220m and a beam of 25m.

Two observations:
1) 055 does not look that much smaller by comparison.
2) YW-5 is a tall ship. Note the 055's top mast reaches roughly the same height as Yuan Wang's dish antennas. Even the two front main AESA panels are situated higher than YW-5's bow, with the rear pair almost as high as YW-5's bridge. Of course, once the 055 is fully-loaded, the height will reduce somewhat, but not by much. The fact remains, 055 may look low-slung, but her superstructures and embedded sensors sit quite high.

If it's a matter of calculating how high above the water those radar arrays sit, that's not hard at all, as there have been enough images to estimate it.
Centerpoint of lower arrays sit at some 13 meters above water. High ups sit at little over 16 meters.
And the medium sized arrays on the mast have their centerpoint at little over 23 meters above water.
