My friend can confirm that the 346B is GaAs and not GaN. It is also much more powerful than the 346A on the 052D. Reading through some of the older pages some were questioning the point of the 055, claiming that the 055 is just a larger 052D. The 055 has an entirely different sensor suite than the 052D. It will greatly enhance the PLAN's combat capabilities.
I think the 055 is at least equal if not better than a Flight IIA Burke.
No offense, but your friend can "confirm" absolutely nothing unless he's an actual industry insider.
Apparently it's pretty well known in China that the radar on the 052D is GaAs.
What does that have anything to do with anything? You - sorry, your friend - is making unsubstantiated claims on the 055's "346B", not on the 052D's 346A.
Seems like GaAs is the standard now.
Huh??? That's like saying vacuum tube switches are the standard now because previous computers used them. Seems you don't really understand the difference between GaAs and GaN.
