It has a very linear relationship, for every 4000 tons addition, you simply slap on additional $250mil

This is the kind of simplistic maths that a middle school-aged fanboi would post and expect people to feel is both reasonable and cool. IMO the chance of this kind of 'equation' actually playing out in real life is just about zero.

Higher or even Lower in actuality, I don't know.

This is somewhat illuminating: 1) there will be two hangars, 2) the side slopes terminates below the landing pad.

Interesting... if that really is the case then it will throw a spanner into pretty much all of the previously raised possibilities for what the ship would look like...

I'm going to wait for better pictures to confirm the hangar/stern situation, because even if those two are helicopter hangars it doesn't fully jive with the previous photos we had

I do recall an artist impression that accounted for this. I have it a high-resolution version of it saved somewhere on my drive, but I couldn't find it. So I shall post a smaller version of it below.

Yes, I've seen that configuration before as well, and considered it... and while it definitely is possible, it would signal a departure from how the main deck/hull configurations of recent classes of major surface combatants of the Chinese Navy were designed.

I suppose we'll see with clearer photos.
