Given the calculated dimensions, 6000 tons displacement sounds rather conservative. It's the size of FREMM with 6700 light displacement.

Maybe more sound insulation also as it is an ASW specialist, and more redundancy and damage control.

hopefully more power and better sensor suite, also largeer displacement typically means faster top speed so hopefully it can keep up with a carrier group better than a 054A.

Doubtful.

The hangar doesn't look that long to begin with; the additional space in front of it could represent a generic workshop area, but even then the total length doesn't look long enough to accommodate two folded Z-20s in a nose to tail manner.

The single hangar is only able to accommodate one helicopter in terms of width, and the small space in front of the hangar is unable to accommodate a helicopter in general, so it's not even worth thinking about putting helicopters there side to side.

My advice is to not even think about the idea of 054B having two helicopters for now. It has a single helicopter, and a massive, massive body of evidence is necessary for us to consider the alternative at this stage.

Essentially, (likely to be) yes.

Basically, you got a 054A-repeat - But much better.

I guess this officially or semi-officially cements the designation as 054B.

I was always waiting, thinking it might be start of a new series 057.

Essentially 054B is a stretched out 054A to handle better helicopters and a new radar suite for the HQ-16 improved sams.
