Quote posting @海洋装备与公务船资讯's post of the above photo, @水雷屋 on Weibo mentioned that the newest (6th) batch of 054AG FFGs currently under construction at Hudong-Zhonghua and Huangpu-Wenchong are having non-insignificant capability step-ups from the previous batches of 054A/AGs, including (but potentially not limited to):
1. Rapid-rotating radar set (likely Type 368);
2. New 100mm naval gun (yes, please do get used to the mantou-shaped turrets); and
3. (Already known) extended helicopter landing pad for Z-20 operations.
Correction made.

Also, Big Bun CG on Weibo has made the CGI model of said 6th batch of 054AGs, according to the aforementioned information.

They may be updated, but tend to look pretty much the same from outside :)
Flat rectangle is big enough to be visible, for arrays made of square elements shape matters, after all.

One interesting aspect is that gun fire control radars are precise enough to give targeting data for any anti-air/anti-surface engagement.

Add on top electronic scan of ESA(multiple tracked targets=multiple sets of fire control data within typical +-60 deg cone), and those little arrays become a powerful secondary fire control means even if main FC radars are out of action. With limited range, of course, but it's far better than to end up silent and/or tied to IRST channels(provided it's even possible on this particular ship).

Posted in conjunction with the 076 LHD thread.

Apart from the elephant in the room - Hull modules belonging to at least two more 054AG/-mod FFGs/cutters have been spotted placed alongside the drydock's left at Hudong-Zhonghua.

Who knows what kind of mammoth shipbuilding capability can Hudong-Zhonghua muster once the 3rd phase of shipyard expansion project to the east of the current site on Changxin Island is complete (which is set to encompass yet another drydock which is 1.5 times the size of the current one)...

Im curious why they are building this many Coast Guard frigates instead of building Navy 054s.

Out of curiosity, is there any information where the hull modules were built before being transported to the shipyard? Also, does this indicate that the shipyard expects this drydock to be vacated "soon"?

Those hull ‘modules’ are more like half a ship. There are just 4 modules, which looks like they will form 2 complete ships once combined.

Those modules weren’t there a month ago, they have basically put together 2 ships in a month, outside the dry dock.

Because not every situation requires the PLAN. It will only unnecessarily wear down the fleet in the long run.

For instance, conducting regular, long-term patrol missions in and around disputed waters and islands respectively in the SCS and ECS and defend against enroaching fishermen and opposing coast guard forces.

Right in the same shipyard, underneath the assembly halls located not far away from the drydock.

No. The 076 LHD isn't expected to be launched within this year.

Though, once the three 054AG and 054-mod FFGs and cutter in the drydock is ready for launch and as long as the 076's hull has been made fully watertight, those FFG and cutter hulls can be launched right away, before new 054AG/-mod hull modules can be placed in those locations where those launched FFG and cutter hulls once occupied.

The 076 LHD will remain inaide the drydock in its original position throughout the FFGs and cutter's launch process.

That seems to be the case.

CCG maybe nominally large but only a small number of its cutters are old navy ships not designed for prolonged patrol mission profile.

054 derivative(s) is a mature design that are suitable for such duty profile, and an existing production line that can rapidly churn them out.
