How does SMT Pielstick compare to Germany's MTU, who also competes with SMT for both Chinese and global markets. Why didn't they use MTU engines on the 054X, just like on the 052X destroyers?

Not only China but most of the world submarine use MTU But it is highly specialized naval diesel engine for submarine
