personally I would like to see a dual hanger which can handle 2 x naval Z18 with 48 x VLS

with 002, Type 075 and Type 055 all made their presence now we have one of the last remanning warships to welcome

in naval aviation terms Fixed wing AWACS and next generation of carrier fighter is still to make a appearance

Type 054B should have at least an AESA. China has been surprisingly late on this for their frigates when it was breathtakingly early doing it for their carriers and destroyers. Just about every modern frigate uses AESA, including older frigates that has been upgraded. Even the export Type 054AP has an AESA and the export Type 056.

Having an AESA is more than just a matter of better numbers in detection and range, but gives you better ECM resistance, enabling the ship to function under high ECM environments.

IMO the production run should be 32 for a total of 64 modern, ocean-going frigates.

Basically, sounds like a 052D-sized(and priced), but more of a general purpose vessel.

I believe that was written a few years ago by fzgfzy.

That said he hasn't really updated that for a while now, and the fact we haven't seen 054B emerge yet has made some people doubt it. That said he seems insistent that there will be an 054B, and it's only really been a couple years at most, so...
