Look at the CIWS on the aft end of the helo hanger. Those are AK-630s.

Very good but i don' t have this ships for one unit of ESF :

6th destroyer flotilla: 523 Putian, 524 Sanming, 548 Yiyang, 549 Changzhou ok but in more Jiaxing-521, Lianyungang-522

It seems that the 521 and 522 frigates might have been transferred to the independent flotilla, although it has not been confirmed.

I wonder what are the specific duties of these new independent frigate flotillas anyway (when compared to frigates in the destroyer flotillas) and what was the general rationale behind their creation, as I haven't seen it discussed around here.

I do not think China can keep the current or previous naval structure in place they will have to change as new and more modern ships come on line

Probably somewhere in the South China Sea, ready to uncloak and attack Vietnamese or Filipino ships foolish enough to open fire on China's billion dollar oil rig, or her white hulled professional harassment fleets.

Definitely not 1 (Nansha/Spratley) Patrol Frigate Squadron based at Yulin because get yet 6 FF Jianghu II 533 Taizhou, 534 Jinhua, 543 Dandong, 545 Linfen, 553 Shaoguan, 555 Shaotong

FORBIN is right. I believe the 3rd independent frigate flotilla, to which the abovementioned ships have been likely transferred, is based at Ningde (ESF).
