Starting today, 4 PLAN ships will be open for public tours in cities whose of which they are named: Type 051B DDG, 167 Shenzhen - Type 054A FFG, 529 Zhoushan - Type 052B DDG, 168 Guangzhou - Type 052 DDG, 113 Qingdao

The 7th 054A of HD (15th of the total) is out for sea trial.

This is the 8th 054A of Hudong Zhonghua (16th of the total).

Ok great so is there any pictures of the construction halls with more FFG? Would be exciting to know if more than 16 x Type 054A will be built or will they make the switch to Type 054B

This is probably the first time they open the helicopter hanger to the public, but of course it is out of necessity - usually the weapon display is done on shore, but that'd be brutal to the visiting public in this weather.

Also, notice that the navy personnel are still issued with the QBZ95 series, not the newer 95-1 series.

I went to HP shipyard today, and yes I was authorised to enter and as such was expected to conduct responsibly, which I did and therefore took no photos inside the shipyard. When I looked into the assembly hall, there were no 054A's under construction, just civil ships and 056. I also saw 2 of the new catamaran rescue ships berthed along with a 056 and 2 054A's, of which one was 538. On the opposite shore, I took a picture with my phone, which has such a poor camera no military secrets could be leaked anyway and its sole purpose is to prove I was there. Unfortunately, due to the GFW, I can't access any photo hosting websites so I can only post the picture after I finish my holiday here in China.

This is why it is advisable for Navies to open up and do this type of "open house," and "visitations." See the look on those faces? You are looking at dreams and goals being established in young men's hearts which will translate into many new sailors, NCOs and officers for the PLAN in the years to come.

Hey Asif, I'm curious, does Pakistan has or planning to acquire any of China's Type 054 ships? I can't find a definite article online about it. Thanks.
