I cannot speak for those specific pictures...which I REALLY like and are very nice.

Are you sure they are from her original sea trials? Perhaps Naval Trials after commissioning.

The original sea trials of 172 were covered here with a lot of pictures. (Pages 10, 12, 15, and 21 on this thread have some nice pics...there are others) . But they were well over a year ago. She was commissioned in March 2014.

I am wondering what they were doing to get that kind of "wave wash" - were they turning aggressively (it doesn't look to be so)? Or were they "gunning it" (full steam ahead) or was it just the rough sea condition??

I think those pics have been posted before because they were quite memorable with the waves washing over the superstructure. It's not new pics either and so is probably buried deep in this thread.
