Who cares about new launches. How about a few commissionings. In the first 9 month of this year not a single Type 052C or Type 054A has been commissioned.

Like asif said, I'd rather have ships wait for their crews rather than the other way around.

I'm the opposite I like to see launches and take time on commissioning that's the part you don't want to rush the training of the sailors and crew is very very important

No point in having a top tier DDG when you don't have the people to man them correctly

They have streamlined the production so can pump them out good and fast let them sit in the yard until navy is ready for commissioning no point in rushing the important part

In my opinion they are already going too fast with the production so shutting the second hall down was a good thing well kind of

the PLAN has been retiring and replacing the old 053, 051 with 054A and 052C/D on a one to one base, the crew and sailors are not new recruits, they are experienced sailors; and the ships are not new either, PLAN has been operating those ships for more than ten years, that's why I'm confused by the delay.

Good points. The PLAN is really stretching thin with all these launches. I suspect the rushing of the 172 052D earlier this year might be attributed at least partially to PLAN wants to use this ship to train more personnel.

I somehow feel sad to see the last 052c going on sea trial. I went to live in the United States when 170 was launched, I remember being so proud of my country, and i was up all night looking at artists' concepts of the ship. now with the last 052c going on to sea trial, I really believe that china can one day become an even more powerful player in the world.

Personally I don't like this separation of fleets and like the idea of the Liaoning which can be used by any fleet

I think PLAN should re organise and allow ships to operate in different fleets this will add flexibility

Plus it balances out the warship tonnage these SSF, ESF and NSF is old school naval strategy

ESF right now is a top tier flotilla with 4 x Type 052C while NSF is no where near getting its share of the new DDG this is a disparity

I guess the current set up is too deep rooted to change overnight and gradually we will see PLAN reorient

Also PLAN should get more aggressive excercises with surface and sub surface manoeuvres maybe a large scale ASW mission out in the Pacific Ocean
