Exactly. The muzzle brake reduces the energy of the recoiling gun tube that must be absorbed by the recoil mechanism of the mounting.
Yes and neccessary especialy in a maned tank turet less room... both systems are useful.

This is NOT funny under any circumstance. It is very inappropriate to threaten Pres. Trump and ADM Harris( U.S. Pacific Command) . Very inappropriate indeed.....
I seriously doubt he meant it as a threat of any kind. More like these ships are ready to beat back an aggressive Trump who might send ships to China's door, or something like that. The balance of power between China and the US is not one which would induce anybody, especially a long time member of a military forum, to boast about sending some ships over to somehow attack Trump or Harris.

The Type 052D is a very ood looking and capable vessel.
Clearly the PLAN likes them and is building them in large numbers.
Along with the Type 054A and its follow ons, the Type 052D is going to be one of the backbones of the PLAN.
I am nterested to see how many of them they ultimately build.
