I like their idea of emptying the ciws drum on deck better then the Dutch Goalkeeper ciws (goes back to the drum and emptied with the hand).
It takes a moment to unload and load (i hate the job of taking out the carton rolls where the shells had been in haha).

Btw what are those racks on deck? Seems to be used a a deadweight to keep the cloth on deck as protection?

Those are probably gym weights. (gewichtschijven)

Those are the clips that holds the 30mm rounds, alas empty clips now.

In reality, the ejected casings more likely bounced of the deck into the sea.

Wouldn't it be better if the spent casings were collected with a bag or net at the end of that chute?

Yes it is better to catch them.
But yeah its still better then reload them to the drum.
In the end you can fetch them off the deck if the edges have a waterwall and small drains.
Otherwise they fall off haha

You might not want to drag what may quickly become a heavy bag around with the CIWS mount, also increase the risk of it getting caught and jammed in crack/crevice.

The 730 is a precision weapon platform that need to move/react quickly.

But I just noticed that the edge of the platform on which the 730 is mounted is raised, so maybe that would stop and collect some of the rolling casings.

Well a low netting or casing doesnt interrupt the ejection

The goalkeeper ciws can shoot 4200 a min (drum capacity of 700 to 1200 +/-)

Chinese might do as well. Can be to much of the good stuff.

Plus the mounted section platform needs to be bigger.

Non the less. Catching empty shells can be remold and less enviorement deadly.

Well lets get back ontopic haha
