Re: PLAN Type 052 Class Destroyer

Anyone know from previous 052D builds.............what the average turnaround in build time from modules entering build sheds to vessel being launched?

It depends on how much room is in the fitting basin and also when the ship started fabrication (eg: did modules of D5 already move into the shed before D4 was launched?)

But overall I think a 6 month appearance-in-hall to launch time is not an unfair estimate for how familiar JN should be with the ship

I would not be at all suprised I think we seen sections of D5 not long after D3 was launched

Also I would not be suprised of we started to get materials for D7 and long lead materials for D8 in the pipeline

JNCX is a island and they must bring in materials over G40 expressway or by other ships and assembly starts and they fabricate those modules there too

I bet the CIA spy satellites have a good idea of what is going in inside the halls and in and around that area it's not like China is shy they are really showing off to the world right now and rightly so that Type 052D is s stunning beauty

Way back when the Soviet Union invaded Afghanistan CIA supplied 120mm mortars to the Mujahideen this was in 1986 or 1987 so like almost 30 years ago, the Mujahideen had GPS locators and a team of 8 with 3 mortars were tasked to get close and hit and destroy a Soviet helicopter air base at Jalalabad they targeted the base at night claimed they have knocked out the entire base

ISI and Mujahideen claimed a victory but CIA was not convinced and back at HQ in America the CIA was waiting for a spy satellite to fly overhead later the next day and when the photos came in the base was completely devastated they could see only craters left behind because you know a 120mm round is a huge round with devastating impact and so more mortars followed and so did the famous should launched stinger missiles

So my point really was that we know a lot but certain agency's know a whole lot more! But in this day and age people like us can also followed closely what previously was not possible even like 5 years ago news travels very fast!

I love how clean the 052D looks, even compared to the 052C and earlier ships. It just really flows right...

What is the estimated production output per year of this 1/350 scale shipyard, if budget is not an issue? ;)
Well, if you take a look at this page:

...and you will see what I have completed in about the last 46 months. Almost all of those ships with links to them have been built in that time frame.

30 Ships altogether, including five carriers which take the longest. The longest was the USS Enterprise which took a good six months. But seven of those are also submarines which I can turn out in about a week each.

I wonder if the 18th escort task force for anti-piracy will have Type 052D would be great if it did it can deploy small boats so it would be well suited
