US would continue to repeat such accusation 1000 times until it became truth in the eyes of Americans. Same thing with the lab leak theory that has become mainstream now.

I fail to see the benefit of diplomacy

Well unless you think China can soundly defeat the US army in the span of week with minimal damage done to its economy and land, then by all means say "screw diplomacy." There are people on both sides who think their country is perfectly capable of doing it to the other. I'm just glad cooler heads while acknowledging both side's relations are at the point of no return, at the very least talking to avoid such an outcome is worth it.

China recently award a regiment flying H-6K as some sort of model regiment related to their role in expelling foreign ships in Chinese waters. I think this is related to the recent happenings in SCS, what do you guys think?

Not sure about you guys but I got the text on my Chinese number overseas. I'm sure we'll eventually find what went down with H-6K and foreign ships (e.g., USS Reagan) in the SCS in the past few days during Blinken's visit .

Instead of a dramatic buildup, the CPC like to keep things under wraps. Maybe one day in the near future we'll all get a text in the middle of the night telling us Taiwan has been liberated.

US is desperately trying to get a hotline with Chinese military.
