The stories of China's relations with countries like South Korea and Australia are tragedies. They are stories about how you can be a great trading partner (some problems happened but there was consistent exponential growth which is what matters) and politically passive but still disliked for ideological or ethnic reasons. And how that dislike can easily determine government policy.

My view is The south Koreans view of china in general is negative but that isn't as bad as poll suggest. Sometimes the polling questions can be very misleading. It does not differentiate the type of disapproval.
Are SKns negative view of china the same as theirs towards Japan? The country that actually colonized, raped their comfort women and suppressed their culture? I very much doubt so.


Besides the largest foreign student contingent in china is from SK. Not sure now after covid but I reckon it's not far off. Many SKns also live in China. You can find Tons of videos on YouTube made by SKn studying or visiting or living or married to chinese guys in china, documenting their lives there. Interestingly, not as many by Japanese in even with bigger home population.

It is funny that MSM just reported 13,000 Chinese millionaires would relocate from China and made it like the apocalypse. However, much poorer India, it is expected 6000 Indian millionaires would flee the country. However, the article explained it as just wealthy people trying to diversify their assets and change domicile to dodge taxes.

It's quite sad for these abandoned brides back home. Even if they know their husband overseas are up to hanky Panky stuff.

There was a case in sydney of a well known respectable married Indian who drug raped many young Korean women. Well not recent, the rapist commited his crime many years ago but was recently found guilty court.

Anyway his wife back home also found out he had a failed extramarital affair in sydney before the rapes. But still she defended her criminal disloyal husband in court, I guess because she is afraid of reprisals at home. Very sad state of affairs.

They’ll hate China even more when Chinese interstellar probes and interplanetary colonies dominate the solar system. You can’t really hide the glaring reality of Chinese space stations from your population and there will be pressing questions over the fitness of the leadership of western elites

No, not the same, it's worse. Why? Because SKoreans well know that Japan is an ignorable, neutered vassal that is on a leash by their same master U.S. and can't do a thing without a U.S. approval. Japan has limited potential and has no chance projecting power and influence to the world like China is doing now.
Their whole "Korean unique" ethnic identity and prides are Chinese (not Japanese). Their fragile national ego conflicts with China.
All those "colonized, raped their comfort women and suppressed their culture" things are the things of the past. You shouldn't count on those things. The China problem is the present they're seeing and feeling and the future.

The number of foreign students have nothing to do with this kind of matter. It does make any difference at all where they are or where they live. SKoreans go to ANY other countries more than Japanese. Also the Japanese society does not have strong gender discord unlike SKorea. Tons? You definitely haven't seen what real tons of videos are on YouTube. Besides, I remind you that YouTube as a U.S. company that respects diversity censors hatred, violence and bullying.

Polls are manipulative, for example Manila doesn't represent the whole Philippine and I think the same apply for SK. And who usually commission those survey, let me give you a hint INTEREST GROUP.

I had participated from a survey group PULSE ASIA, a NGO which was funded by oligarch (when they were involved you bet the US partially funded it because the elite oligarch are cheapskate unwilling to spend their ill gotten wealth) the questioning are design with malicious and nefarious intent, the most important thing are the numbers, it make good headlines and to the deliver their narratives.

Berlin unveils 1st natl security strategy; tries to 'preserve autonomy'​

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock on Wednesday unveiled the country's first-ever comprehensive national security strategy seeking to provide an overview of the country's foreign policy and ensure a cohesive cross-ministry approach to security, as well as to prevent Berlin from being wrong-footed by geopolitical events

Chinese analysts believe the strategy can been viewed as a major symbol of settling inter-party and inter-ministerial disputes of the traffic light governing coalition. Although the document contains some strong-worded rhetoric against China, it also advocates cooperation, which indicates that China-Germany relations still have room to develop, analysts noted.

Chinese analysts said that Berlin is trying to put aside ideological differences and trying not to provoke China, its largest trading partner, as well as making efforts to preserve its autonomy as a major country on the European continent despite pressure from the US to force allies to contain China.

US sending more fighter jets to Middle East – Pentagon​

American officials announced the deployment of F-22s, citing “provocative” Russian air operations

The US military has sent additional fighter jets in the Middle East in response to “increasingly unsafe” activity by Russian aircraft in the region, including several incidents in Syria.

F-22 Raptors with the 94th Fighter Squadron were deployed from Langley Air Force Base in Virginia, according to Central Command (CENTCOM), which oversees US military operations in the Middle East, Central Asia and parts of Africa.

The decision was part of a “multifaceted show of US support and capability in the wake of increasingly unsafe and unprofessional behavior by Russian aircraft,” CENTCOM said in a press release on Wednesday.

Pentagon officials have accused Moscow of reckless flights over US bases in Syria in recent weeks, with CENTCOM chief General Erik Kurilla claiming there has been a “significant spike” in “provocative” actions since March.

In an interview with the Wall Street Journal in April, Air Force Lieutenant General Alexus Grynkewich warned that the rise in tensions could lead to a “miscalculation” among Russian and American pilots operating in Syria, stating there were 60 separate incidents between March and April alone.

F-22s to the Middle East? I doubt it just has to do with Russian aircraft in Syria. Iran buying SU-35 likely played a role in the decision.
