Their are precedents that prevent slavery, camps, from happening again ... and the gov finds way around it with "guest" visa , mass survellence, fbi honeypots. It will be an American authoritarian lifestyle , but having you grind as a worker bee making adding 50-150k in gdp is worth more than having you waste away in a camp, unless you are making terroristic threats or stocking firearms.

If the US was in chaos, the likely threats wouldn't be from Asians who would keep their heads down or leave, likely the white nationalist, black seperatist, cartel, international gangs, muslim extremist, would use that opputunity to cause trouble.

The reason why all of sudden so many African Americans and homeless people start attacking Chinese with no reason is because MSM is gone into rampant to demonize and demoralize Chinese.

If you think the US government is rational, then the US would not have done so many stupid things and make so many foolish mistakes. I don't know why you would buy into model citizens narrative as keeping your heads down mean that the politicians can come after you with no consequences. As much as you might disdain how African Americans fighting back racism with violent but they have effectively shown the government that they are a force to be reckon with unlike Asians that can put in jail or camp submissively.

You're assuming the US government is rational, when it's been shown repeatedly that politicians in democracies pander to hysteria. Ever heard of the phrase, tyranny of the masses? It was named after America:

When a man or a party suffers from an injustice in the United States, to whom do you want them to appeal? To public opinion? That is what forms the majority. To the legislative body? It represents the majority and blindly obeys it. To the executive power? It is named by the majority and serves it as a passive instrument. To the police? The police are nothing other than the majority under arms. To the jury? The jury is the majority vested with the right to deliver judgments. The judges themselves, in certain states, are elected by the majority. However iniquitous or unreasonable the measure that strikes you may be, you must therefore submit to it or flee. What is that if not the very soul of tyranny under the forms of liberty

When times are great, and resources are abundant, the majority can be generous, and swayed by virtue signaling to vote for laws that protect civil rights and help minorities. But when times are hard - and they are becoming hard - it invariably goes to shit as the majority rallies around racial / ethnic identity, crushes civil rights, and votes only in its own interest.

And that's how democracies transform into tyrannies.

Between a few thousands to tens of thousands. However, Muslims never posed a threat of toppling the US domination and control over the world.

The issue right now is that the US government from the Executive Branch to Congress to States to local has totally discarded any pretense of fairnes and lawful by enacting or attempting to enact the Restrict Act or ban of sales of lands to certain nationalities. In addition, MSM is aiding and enabling demonize and demoralize Chinese and China at the same time with no voice of opposition.

If a few months and a few years ago. I wouldn't have agreed East Asians would face imminent danger of getting put in jail or property confiscated. But Restrict Act has shown us that it is very real and very possible. Such absurdity that no one not from the liberal progressive lefts or libertarian rights came out to oppose such blatant laws. It shows you that the US and all political factions have came into conclusion to do whatever it takes to go after China including those Chinese that living in the US.

Tens of thousands were watched for sure, but only a small number were detain. My understanding was that most that got detained got suckered by fbi honeypots to make terrorist threats.

Muslims, Blacks, "Mexicans", Native Americans, Gays,Trans, Jews are just looking at us and saying "WELCOME TO THE CLUB" Our rights will be infringed and we will live under authortarian rule as tension increases and murica copes, but to say we would be arbitrary detain in mass would be a bit much. The conflict would be near nuclear at that point and you wouldn't have to care much of anything else at that point.

Maybe the Asian American here are "new" and had some weird dream of the US being the greatest but Asians had always had it hard growing up in the US until the golden years of 2000-2020. And Its always been crappy for the millions of asians living outside of the asian bubble metros.

The Chinese have always been willing to pick up and leave. So time to save $$ and do your research. As I said elsewhere, someone needs to get the Chinese govt to setup a way for repatriation.

Honestly, if the anglos had decided not to target China and TikTok, they could well have gotten this RESTRICT bill passed but thanks to their greed and desire to steal TikTok, they overreached and are now having to deal with 150 million Americans pissed off with the prospect of losing their twerking vids.

Just a superficial opinion from myself, as I never bothered to find out what this American government legislation is all about. That legal stuff is more boring that economics you know, heh.

Just my opinion is that this RESTRICT act by the US Congress, they are trying to elevate everything to be a national security issue. Whether they will succeed, probably not.

It is like a world of endless lawsuits.

Now that really is dystopia.
