Its premature to call it a "hate crime" considering the suspect is unknown, motive is unknown, and some said he appear either Asian or "white/hispanic" which means it could be anyone. As we have also seen in China (any any other countries), there are insane people that take out others out of anger to society.

Either way, the anti Chinese and Asian hate is real. It doesn't matter what race the perpetrator is. The US government and mainstream media has perpetuated this environment against China so much that it created a hateful and dangerous environments towards Chinese and Asian people in America.

M***herf***ers! If the shooting occurred at a Synagogue, and killed Jews. It would have instantly be labeled a hate crime.


Does it matter? Hell no! 'Asian' is a broad ethnic group. Shooting ppl who were celebrating the Chinese Lunar New Year is very intentional. If someone was shooting ppl celebrating Bar Mitzvah, would it not be called a hate crime? Why is the outrage so muted when its ppl getting killed celebrating a Chinese festival?

This mass shooting in the US strikes me as odd.

Usually in these mass shootings, in a night club or school, the shooter is usually dead, mostly likely from killing themself.

This time, they actually ran, like a serial killer.

So, I would think the shooter himself is Asian.

If this was a shooting on the street, with a crowd, then we can condemn it as racially motivated.

In this one, not so sure. A specific location was picked, a club full of people, just like how other mass shootings happened. And it was done at 10:30 PM local time, when the Lunar New Year Festivities were officially over at 9:00 PM.

We have to wait for more details to emerge. My guess is that they probably will not find the shooter, because he ran. Usually in a mass shooting, they always know the shooter, because he's dead.

Also, this was a dance club in an Asian neighbourhood. If some white guy walked in or a black guy walked and started shooting, there is the description of the suspect. This time the description of the suspect appears to be not clear.

They will find him, they always do. No way to get away with something like this in the modern age... if the shooter was a professional who could get away and not get caught, and he had a specific target, this wouldnt even have made the news
