Translation:


"China has always pursued the nuclear policy of no first use of nuclear weapons at any time and under any circumstances, and unconditionally not to use or threaten to use nuclear weapons against non-nuclear-weapon States or nuclear-weapon-free zones; it advocates the eventual complete prohibition and thorough destruction of nuclear weapons; it will not engage in a nuclear arms race with any country; and it has always maintained its nuclear forces at the minimum level required for national security. China adheres to a self-defense nuclear strategy aimed at deterring the use or threat of use of nuclear weapons by other countries against China and ensuring national strategic security."

The white paper says that Chinese nuclear forces will be maintained at the minimal level for national security, in order to deter others from using nuclear weapons against her.

There are limits to how far we should trust your arguments given what you do and whose side you're on, but even if you're being completely sincere you overlook two crucial factors.

The overwhelming majority of cases is not the totality of cases. China cannot and will not leave any leeway for the US to threaten or coerce it.

More importantly, you completely discount the psychological impact of nuclear parity. It is ingrained into the subconscious of every single American that Russia is not to be messed with and the reason for that is obvious. When the US president gets on television and says "I'm not going to start WWIII with Russia", we can be sure that Russia's message has been sent. there are some further useful escalations that should be done before Pelosi lands:

1. designate DPP as a criminal organization, issue warrants for DPP ringleaders

2. secondary sanctions declared on DPP, mainland will not be involved in the supply chain of DPP linked businesses.

3. partially cancel recognition of Taiwanese university degrees, lower them to equivalent of mainland associate degrees (本科等同于大专）

4. ban Taiwanese airlines from Chinese airspace - even if they're just passing

5. cancel all recognition of Taiwanese food safety, all Taiwanese food imports are now treated as biohazardous materials until proven, at importer expense, to be safe and compliant with PRC regulations
