Supposed to be financed by private firms....HAHAHAHA

What a bunch of fucking retards.

Infrastructure projects are notorious (regardless of country) for the long periods required to return on investment. The Sydney Harbour Bridge took 65 years to pay off, and tip of the iceberg. Private investors usually don't touch infrastructure with a 10-foot pole. Infrastructure needs to be state funded or it won't happen.
Toll roads have become a way of providing roading when the state don't want to pay so I cant see why one cant have toll bridges as well.

Our PM Jacinda is much much better than Morrison ... business in NZ is booming export to China is booming too as China take everything from NZ that usually come from Aussie as well ... i.e crayfish, beef, milk, fish, etc
Hold on, thanks to the Greens and animal lovers I've lost my live cattle export to China.

The opposition party is going nowhere at the moment and who among the current administration has the numbers in a bid to become PM?
Things will change very quickly when the west gets screwed over but not before. Just like they threw turnbull under the bus, they will do the same to this idiot when the time is right.

Exactly right; Anglo led West talks big, relies heavily on propaganda but aint got the stones to back up words with action.

The US is on the road to hyperinflation, desperately needs China's investment- in fact, all the G-7 rely on Chinese trade- and do these wannabe 8 nations alliance hope to force an unequal treaty this time round?
Which is why they are stupid for not learning from history. Things are not the same as it is in the past and it would take only a few for crisis (with the USA under going a mass of cyber attacks all targeting their grids) to really bring things down in the USA. And that is when the entire game will change and not in the favour of the west any more

If you have been to any third world countries, in my case indonesia, you will see not many is willing to pay to use toll roads, most will prefer to use alternative roads bypassing said toll roads/bridges, thus defeating the purpose of building the roads and bridges in the first place

In NZ its all good. Just leave a few dollars in a road toll account and cameras capture the number plate Number.Time and fuel costs savings justify the dollars spent.

You talking about first world country whose citizens can afford to pay "few dollars" to use toll road
Most third world countries citizens survive on less than five dollars a day
this infrastructure plan is supposed to be for developing world aka third world countries not first world countries

The idea of the West's green alternative to China's Belt and Road is a scam in itself. It's undoubtedly going to cost more so are they expecting these countries to pay the bill? And then some Western environmental tech company will be winning the lottery getting all the money to produce this technology for said poor country the West ignored for decades and they'll be indebted to the West to obey.

Yeah, just like the onerous Malampaya deal that Ansy 1968 referred to, where the Phillipines have to stump up all the costs for 12% of the revenue with Shell getting the rest. There are no limits to the guiles from the West.
