TSMC has used the same tactic on the past to crush Chinese competitors.

I am sure that the CPC will protect SMIC from these kinds of shenanigans by TSMC. If it doesn't then the CPC fully deserves to lose the tech war.

Anyway, there is still a lot of demand so TSMC wont capture the whole market

But that is exactly why I say I believe in Chang sifu.

Chinese people are cheap. Everyone knows that.

In his interview where Chang sifu say that American engineers are shit at what they do in semiconductors, Chang sifu complains that what they will make the product is too expensive, if they can make them at all.

Here is Chang sifu, a billionaire several time overs, and richer than President Trump, acting cheap and expounding the cheap ideology.

Chang sifu was actually laughing at the Americans when he made those comments.

Who knows, maybe Chang sifu laughing at President Trump because he is richer than him, because he knows how to be cheap.

@horse bro love how you frame it ....LOL, yup those 3 combine new FABS (TSMC , INTEL in Arizona & Samsung in Texas) will be the biggest white elephant ever...hehehe but the American will subsidized it and I think with cheap dollar it's their way of owning the tech. Bro the question will always be to whom they gonna well sell to? to China? having burn many times I think the lesson had been learned and the cost will be astronomical. And I think Mr Chang Sifu knows he had the Chinese market well covered by his Taiwan FABS alone, those US FABS are being built on the behest of the American with US funds for the American market. He had done his part and wanted the American not to intervene in his business venture with the Chinese.

It's a snippets from Chinese articles.
Your links for top producing papers is just papers
Vietnam is also super fast at economic development. I wouldn't call it a technology powerhouse

You do realize producing theoretical paper is different than industrialize them into products right?
Yeah read the content. You said China doesn't focus on materials science, chemistry and physics even though there's significant effort.
As for Vietnam, compare Vietnamese scientific capabilities from 20 years ago to today. There's significant progress

@voyager1 bro TSMC dominated in the mainland because of Huawei, it contribute nearly 18% of its revenue before sanction and yes you're correct about its shenanigans, they have a hand in sanctioning SMIC. But it makes SMIC stronger with gov't and local industries support. Now bro we had to wait for the SMIC localization program to finished, they had a ready customer waiting and its a huge one. Let see it catch up to TSMC.....hehehe it will be a race like no other...LOL, from obscurity 5 years ago to maybe a potential #1 it had come a long way.

You are right brother, who is going to buy the output?

Realistically, that is not China's problem.

The problem with the Americans, they always think they will win, and they will live happily ever after.

Such plans are pretty easy to defeat, that is why China manages to stay alive all this time. Now China being what it is today, the Americans will have no clue what is coming next.

Actually, not sure we can even call them plans. Look at the Vietnam War, the Americans are still using that as a template.

Why?

Who knows. They have to ask the resident day talk show therapist on American network TV.

Those guys/girls still on the air?

Not a tech expert but this video below shows what happen when politics gets involved in business affair. In summary China is the main market and SMIC is her Champion, if all those FABS being built in the US become operational to whom it will sell? the US demand alone is not that big to absorb the increase capacity. And the current shortages is an artificial one due to the Chinese customer stocking up supply of chips (an ex. Huawei). A bust is coming and Mr Morris Chang is sounding the alarm and he is hedging his bets, if SMEE 28NM DUVL is proven that it is capable as the latest ASML DUVL, you bet that TSMC will used it and the Chinese gov't will encourage it. Cause Having an experience and world leading FABS company verifying your machine and the feedback will further enhanced your technological base.

And also its a sample of how the American operates, with excess capacity and investment when the bust came those company will be bankrupt and the American will have it for a song. That's a nice way of stealing others tech with other means...LOL

Bingo.

The USG merely acts as the hired muscle for anglo american 1%er Elites.
These white people would love nothing better than to buy Asian tech companies for pennies on the dollar, as they did to Samsung.

Brother, you raise good points but i fear you underestimate the psychopathy of the Anglo Mind.
This is what the Anglos will do, after having poured billions of dollars into those White Elephant fabs in Arizona and Texas.
They will commence a war, a conflict; perhaps get English Vegetable to commit suicide by declaring taiwan independence such that China has to act.

A war in east Asia would devastate all Asian fabs and make the anglo controlled fabs the only remaining fabs in the world still standing. They will do it via a proxy so that they don't have to fight- look at the state of the SCS where it's the anglos trying to get the PI or Vietnam to commit suicide by going to war with China. That's exactly the same anglo MO right here.

Man whatever. TSMC is a Taiwanese company.

Unless China has troops in Taiwan then TSMC is a Taiwanese company.

I would suggest to avoid political statements on this thread. The whole world knows that TSMC is not a Chinese company
