Interesting. Could you expand on the idea of G2, I vaguely remember that initiative but I didn't give it too much thought then

Why would China disagree with that?
From Chinese perspective, US want
  1. China to be the number 2 of a US world, so US remains number 1, the ultimate goal of US. There is never going to be a equal G2. Obama made that loud and clear in his UN speech.
  2. China will be shielding the the blames aimed at US for being the "walking dog" lieutenant. US can then pretend to be the "nice" guy.
  3. Number 3, 4 and so on will all target number 2 first before they target number 1 in their raising. This will cost all except number 1. Simple math.
  4. China walks away from the position of leading challenger to the US led system that need to be changed. This will leave China isolated from everybody from the other western countries, the countries in the middle and the countries that are suffering in a US world order.
Essentially it is a total surrender for China, not a partnership. And it is the worst surrender by betraying China itself and anybody who had hopes on China.

There is an exact ploy of this kind in 288 BC in the last days of warring state China (Proposal that Kings of Qing and Qi claiming to be emperors of the west and east). And another good listen is that almost no crown prince in China had a good ending. The Chinese leadership has abundant experience to draw from its thousands of years history which the American leadership has no clue. It is as if a baby trying to play a trick with an adult.

But it does often come up with whitewashing its colonial past in Asia, hardly any better than "HR". East or West does not matter, trouble makers always have means to make troubles.
Honestly if Japan does HR while denying colonialism crimes, then it has whitewashed itself into honorary white status o_O

Ah I see. Imagine playing these games to a civilisation full of political backstabs in the past lmao.

Yeah, good for the CPC to decline the offer. The hardworking Chinese people who were working day and night in China were not working to become US vassals but to make China stand up to its own 2 feet. It would be a gross betrayal for its people if the CPC agreed to the G2 plan.

A few months ago, some Taiwanese changed their names to salmon in order to get some free meals. Now we have a couple that married and divorced to get extra days off. Things are started to get crazy by the day in Taiwan.

Hmmm with Japan and Taiwan clearly losing the plot, I honestly wonder just how on earth would they be able to defend themselves from an actual invasion if someone actually decides to come knocking.

Most Taiwanese I talked to have no desire to defend Taiwan. They want independent but don't want to make any sacrifice to obtain it. It always comes down to the US and Japan and the world would come to save them from China.

Don't know enough Japanese to make a judgement but most opinion and survey seem to indicate Japanese youngsters don't feel like they have an obligation to defend Japan.

Then they may have to adjust to an age where in the event that the USA is not around where China is going to be the one to call the shots. These people are so cowardly and weak that really, it’s pretty obvious that what ever desire that the USA has in wanting to use them as buffers against China has failed to the extreme because well, the USA pretty clearly has chopped of their balls so to speak and the USA clearly is trying to get other nations to start a fight against China just to look good which is stupid when the very pawns they are trying to use are a bunch of pussies that expect to be protected by the USA. Both Taiwan and Japan should be thankful that China doesn’t have a genocidal itch because with the numbers and power in China’s side, they can easily make what happened in Nanjing to be like child’s play.
