Nowadays when I accidentally run into a thread full of racism against Chinese people, I actually find it quite funny.

If anything I feel sorry for the white people now since they're usually the one perpetrating and perpetuating the racism.

The charisma that they talk about, which Chinese people apparently lack and are dorks, is usually lying and seductive manipulation. It's just something Chinese people do not enjoy engaging in - eg catcalling girls and trying to sleaze. Hence Chinese people 'do not have charisma'.

I'd rather be uncharismatic.

You gotta remember that many of the smartest Americans are autistic while the non autistic people have room temperature iq. So if anything it’s a compliment. Also for the charisma, I would rather have my boot on their head than be charismatic like a dog.

Please do watch the whole video especially when the typical American smug from wired magazine asked Eric li of what he probably thought a penetrating question only for Eric Li to give it right back to him and the rest of the usual stupefied American audience to leave battered and bruise. Lol

Thanks for the link. I will endeavour to watch it in full, but I have to say, 10 second into the video, and I want to punch that white guy right in his smug, overbearing face.

Inflation is already here. Commodities are over the roof, and the Chinese producers who have for so long kept inflation at bay (for all over the world) are now starting to breaking and having to raise prices.

Make no mistake, if the ultra efficient(huge scale) Chinese manufacturers have to raise prices then that means that the factories in the rest of the world are hopeless and will have to do the same if not more than their Chinese counterparts

Before it was inflation in rich people's assets, now it is coming to the middle class and then to the poor
Now I'm worried that Biden will become a sitting duck president so quickly

Lol not that guy again. That dude was b..ch slapped by Eric Li when they had a debate at Aspen Ideas 5 or 6 years ago. Eric Li impressed the snot out of me with his bluntness that's usually not seen from any Chinese intellectual. Pei on the other hand was out of his element and couldn't muster any coherent response to any of Eric Li's points other than to say Freedom is awesome and all that jazz...
@Bellum_Romanum yeah Eric Li , that is his calling, with perfect English and wit he is the face of modern China. During a public round table discussion organized by Nexus Instituut he calmly and brilliantly explain the Taiwan and HK situation and able to wow the crowd regarding his comment of China Peaceful Rise in front of an American retired admiral and a Canadian official.

It's reverse psychology. It's another example of how this is what the US says it wants but when China helps it along, the US goes into panic. China called the US's bluff. The threat to decouple is only to scare China into submission. The US doesn't want it to actually happen because it'll hurt them economically because greedy people want more not settle for less. The whole "the US needs no one but everyone needs the US" is to lie the US is in a position of strength while everyone else is weak. If you're weak, you need the strong to help you. That's what the US wants to brainwash everyone to believe so everyone has to surrender to US demands to get their help.

The US knows a company like H&M is in a weaker position. Not only do they need Chinese consumers buying their products, H&M also outsources to China. Not only would they lose China as a customer, if decoupling were to happen, their costs are going to increase because Western companies don't outsource for humanitarian purposes giving poor people jobs in other countries. They're there to get their products made at the least cost meaning more profits. Leave and their costs go up. That's an example of what will happen to most Western companies. They're not going to say it out loud but everyone knows the worldwide chip shortage is in large part due to the US chip bans on China on selling to and producing. What happened to the whole lie that they claim China doesn't buy anything from the West but the West buys from China? If China wasn't buying, why are they in panic of China boycotting Western companies' products? Everything might be made in China but it doesn't mean they come from Chinese companies that keep the profits when those products are sold to consumers. What does China have to lose when those products that Westerners buy aren't actually from Chinese companies. The cheap labor they paid for they exploited putting their products together for them? The profits of products when sold to consumers that aren't Chinese? Their end loses out more hence why the panic that China is helping them in their goals in decoupling.

Minxin Pei is only affirming what the US wants to believe. This is where India's courtesy culture works well with Americans. American would rather be told a lie if the lie sounds better than the truth.
@AssassinsMace bro cause he is not a businessman and never get his hand dirty.

Lost round for China. US is pushing around
Lost round? What game is it? Make the US support you? LOL China doesn't play that game, not anymore. The game China is playing now is to disallow Taiwan's independence by force, and there is nothing lost there. After China's done playing this game, the next will be to unify Taiwan by any means necessary.

Ok good enough. But honor? Whatever..

Wtf, literally slaves. Seriously, slaves with not even an inch of spine inside them

Japan is a good case study of what happens when a nation submits to the Western Capitalist Bloc.

Like China, Japan developed its economy quickly. Unlike China, the Japanese government became puppets of the Japanese capitalists. Japanese democracy has not been working for a long time, if it ever did. Politics are controlled by a handful of wealthy families. The common people vote for the same batch of politicians every election, such that most have become jaded and given up.

The Japanese Capitalists, the ones who actually rule Japan, make a lot of nationalistic noise when faced with China or Korea, but they shut their mouth like good little employees when faced with their corporate overlords, the American Capitalists.

It's no coincidence that if you take a look at the ranks of Chinese billionaires, including people like Ren Zhengfei and Jack Ma, they are overwhelmingly admiring of the West. Indeed, the hope of the West, even just a few years ago, was that China would turn out like Japan, except bigger. It was the hope of the Western Capitalists that Chinese billionaires would take over the rulership of China, and toe the line when it came to Western interests.

Of course, that is patently nonsense because those Western Capitalists have no understanding of what China is. Nevertheless, during the 90s and early 2000s, even in the 2010s, there was a real sense that money = power. Corruption among the public servants was the doorway for wealth to access power. Frankly, remembering what the 2000 - 2010 decade was like, I am still amazed that Xi Jinping was able to tame the corruption in the CPC so quickly and so thoroughly.
