Japan is a neighbour and its' not going away, so China has to put up with it. Australia is not a neighbour. Once Taiwan is dealt with and there are no more fights over diplomatic recognition, China should just cut all ties with Australia. No embassies, no visas, no flights.

Maybe ties could be reestablished after a generation or two when the Australian political establishment has disembarrassed itself of its colonial delusions.

At least it is clear and straight to the point, all of which is justifiable. Compare this to the trade war US launched upon China, with unspoken intention to indirectly lead China to curb her own development in technology and economy.
US launched a traded war with unspoken intention to indirectly curb China own development in technology and economy. So?

It is like a double-edged sword. Obama once banned the export of supercomputer chips to China, they wanted to prevent China from using supercomputers to simulate nuclear explosions. But a year later, China developed its own native chips. If the United States can foresee the future, it will continue to export supercomputer chips. This does not stop China from developing its own supercomputer chip, but will slow the research process (3-4 years) and help American corporations make more money.

Current US strategy, is it working or not. Only the future can answer.

The Chinese government official said "why should China care about Australia?" Why sending the list then?
The saddest part about this response is that you probably thought you are really clever and caught an inconsistency while it is one of the stupidest remarks I've ever seen. You took something quite literally which anyone with common sense would not. Everyone understands in the context, it means that China does not care about Australian complaints if Australia were hostile to China, while you actually thought that this means China should, going forward, treat Australia like it didn't exist.

A list is easy to compile, it puts the ball in their court. They can follow it and restore (some) trade restrictions or they can ignore it and China will also ignore their complaints. Makes all the sense in the world. It takes a person of remarkably low IQ to this this is a blunder simply because it acknowledges the possibility of restoring relations.

The OZ reminds me of school bullies. You know there's always one real big guy. And one not so big, that the victims would have no problems doing over.

The smaller bully is the one doing all the bullying because it thinks the big guy got it's back. That's the one annoying guy I always go after when alone. When that happened, he always cried like a real baby.

Well OZ is that guy.
Australia as a nation is too wrapped up in the idea that the USA is alway going to be the world super power And that China is never going to rise and Australia will have allies to help them deter China from hitting Australia due to some perceived thinking that they have some value to China or are invaluable to China and they are everyone else’s friend except China. well right now, Australia’s value to China is limited, Australia has provided more then enough reasons (sucking up to the USA, meddling in HK/Taiwan and continuing to create false narratives that China is causing australia trouble when they are not) for China to basically declare all out hot war and the world already sees australia as a stupid up start trying to fight the big boys when the only thing protecting australia from an all out war reaching australia soil ( I mean there allegiance to the USA and there continued support in the Middle East has made an enemy out of the Middle East and Russia for crying out load, and I am pretty sure Indonesia isn’t happy about East Timor and no Asian country really cares about australia one bit) is there sheer irrelevance in the scheme of things. Honestly, his idea that japan is somehow going to help with defence is laughable, when japan as a nation also have no defence from hyper sonic missiles/ almost every weapon in China’s arsenal as it is so close to China that if japan starts a fight (which they are absolutely against for obvious reasons, given the amount of missiles that can reach Japanese soil in less then 10 minutes, a population of weaklings compared to ww2, and requiring the USA to basically protect them and even then it’s not enough should China decide that the time has come to avenge nanjing and there is no further chance for discussion), you can expect it end in an extremely short time. I fail to see what value that australia can possibly bring in defence of japan or via versa when any fight they try to bring is essentially in China’s back yard and also in striking range so fast that no US deference can stop it in such a short time frame. It is embarrassing to be an Australian when they honestly don’t see the threat of what is going to happen if they poke a bee hive like a happy idiot without a clue, and they still keeping doing it. What they need now is to finally get stung and stung bad enough that they either learn from it or get completely killed dead for being too stupid to live. If any one thinks that the USA truly cares about either two nations, then look no further from the amount of trade that the USA has stolen from Australia due to Australia being stupid as usual. The USA has so many problems that if ever goes down, australia is basically fucked beyond belief and the leadership is going to have to learn to either stop with the sky news and racism and grow a more objective brain or get completely fucked by China/Russia/any other Middle East country victim of a USA intervention while Japan/South Korea looks the other way hoping not to get hit and get strip farmed of all its resources while the white population gets segregated and the aboriginal population gets a well deserved laugh at all the future pain that is going to happen to there ex colonial masters, I mean continuing a racist mind set in the face of a world wide upheaval against racism is basically asking for serious pain from the whole world and does anyone honestly wonder why many nations couldn’t be bothered siding with Australia when everyone can see a loud lapdog that is to stupid to understand the situation. The world is laughing and making use of Australia’s incompetence to further there trade with China especially in this pandemic right now, the world doesn’t need a loud dog barking like an idiot and if they get too loud, they may simply get shot dead. Something will change in Australia, but they won’t be in a dominate position is to dictate terms, that is for certain since they always need the USA to help out (which is conveniently the reason why no one take a australia seriously)

Funny, you still don't get it, isn't it? Still clueless like always.

The unspoken reason is that Ericsson may loose the Chinese contracts it has already get, and be excluded expansion in the future if Sweden blocks Huawei. Ericsson could be safe even if other European countries block Huawei, but not if Sweden does so.

Just few days ago Denmark reported that US through Danish intelligence agency was spying on Danish government and military when SAAB's JAS-39 was competing against F-35 for Danish contract. That makes me wonder if the Swedish leaders took salaries from US. I am really fascinated by the fact that a country's agency spies on its own military and government on behalf of a foreign government.

"Addtion":
The article said "Nokia has no 5G contract in China". That certainly scared Ericsson for possible retaliation. Nokia is half owned by US capital, it is a merger of former Nokia and Lucent. "excluding" Nokia but keep Ericsson in Chinese 5G is a clear signal to Sweden and EU what China want in return.
