So, is a "fruit" bat more hygienic than a regular bat? Mmm...

When I was an expat in Singapore, several of my Singaporean and Malaysian friends told me that as a kid, they would follow their father or uncle to hunt for fruit bat (called Flying Fox locally) in the plantations. Their mothers or aunts would either deep fry them or grill them over open fire. They said that fruit bats taste real good because they eat fruits, unlike ordinary bats that eat insects.

I ate fruit bat once in a wild game restaurant in Johor Baru (in Malaysia just across the border from Singapore) around the year 2000. Did not find it very tasty. But it did not taste bad either.

Eating fruit bats is quite common in SE Asia, including Singapore (in the old days), Malaysia, and Indonesia.

What have you done wrong keeping gate closed or open?

Lol, open or closed, in my wife's view, (and most wives), it'll be wrong either way! A bit like toilet seats!

I was talking to my golfing friend on the phone just a few days ago. (Damn social distancing, can't wait to get back on the course like Trump did. Lol). He said, he's getting stir crazy, he's done all the work his wife wanted him to do around the house in the last ten years. As he is running out of things to do, he's getting worry what she might be dreaming up!

CNN reports major scientific discovery on the Coronavirus infection !

Erin Bromage, a comparative immunologist and professor of biology at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, summed it up with a short and sweet equation:

"Successful Infection = Exposure to Virus x Time."

Bromage's simplified formula was part of a recent

that has been read over 15 million times in the past two weeks, he told CNN.

I am sure Professor Bromage's earth shakening research result, costing probably $1M of taxpayer money, will soon be published in such prestigious journals like Nature or Lancet, and is expected to save millions of lives around the world.

On a related note, Prof Bromage plans to apply for another $1M research grant from the Department of Transportation to investigate
