I agree with everything except "sharpen sword". The figurative meaning should "perseverance", in that the sailors need to continually hone their skills like a knight would sharpen his sword.
The Type 052D is a very good design.
Perhaps less armament than a Burke...but what she has is good and a threat to any other naval vessel. And...if is such a HUGE leap over what the PLAN could put together only ten years ago.
Pretty amazing actually.
and then there is the Type 055, which will be coming out soon...and in numbers.

DDG-154 is Xiamen, DDG-118 is Urumqi.
And the Xiamen 6th no 7th which is the 118
Xiamen for Dinghai-Yadangshan 6th Destroyer Flotilla
The 054A N° 548 on the pic is rattached to the 3th DDG Destroyer Flotilla to Dinghai-Yangcan
The 2 ports are separated by only few kilometers near Zoushan
