I’ve seen movie trailers for the remake of Red Dawn on you tube. Has that movie come out in the USA yet? Any opinions?

Supposedly open this November of a Thanksgiving holiday. I not paying full ticket prices to see it. I can always wait for the DVD or Blue Ray to come out.

Anyone watching Last Resort on US TV? It's about a US submarine Captain who questions and then refuses an order to fire nukes on Pakistan taking refuge on a South Pacific island and the crew declaring themselves a nuclear power state with the US government on their backs. So the last episode had a new wrinkle where they have a background story China invades Taiwan. In this age of Lost-type TV storytelling it could mean nothing but normalling you don't mention anything in script writing unless it's going to play in the story later. It's called forshadowing. The Russians already tried to steal submarine for some unknown reason. So is China going to invade this island later and play a role? Who knows.

I refuse to pay anything for this abomination of a remake of a classic. Plus I do not wish to be lynched or have ethnic slurs shouted at me by people who will watch this movie.

I've been watching Last Resort. But to clarify for those who haven't seen it. It's not just refusal to fire but that the orders were not sent through the proper chain of command protocols.
The Taiwan thing I only recall the PLAN conducting provocative maneuvers and no invasion. But this more like Jericho at sea excepted they nuked Iran N Korea and parts of America for the plan.
I think(or hope) that they'll write the Chinese will try to bribe them and or offer them trade.

In the end of the episode they had a news clip of China invading Taiwan using their... it sounded like "sunflower" missiles.
The show is doing low ratings. It might not last long enough to see how it plays out.

Equation, are you of Chinese descent? yeah it's sad that in this day and age racism is still very much alive and well in the good ole US of A. At least you're in Cali right? perhaps not so much racism there since Asians there are more 'accepted' than say in the Midwest or the South.
