It took 3 years to go from first flight to IOC on the J-11B.
J-20 will be able to dominate over any aircraft on the planet. I can see J-20 chewing up the F-22 in WVR as both sides are unable to win in BVR. The F-35 should be no match at all. By 2013, China should have a 10 year lead on all other air forces in the world.

Frankly that parts sounds a bit too good to be true but I'll keep my hopes up.

No I'm not, net yet. It's the CO's presence on-site adds weight to it. And like I've said, the next few days should determine all.

True skeptics will just say that the flying picture is also a PS. Even when CCTV officially announce that the program is real they'll go on criticizing how the plane is inferior to the T-50 or F-22 and F-35.

and when they see the plane at the airshow and touched it, they'll say not only it's a fake, but also a high-budget plastic model made by the CCP, in collaboration with the illuminatis and freemasons and other NWO countries in attempt to enslave humanity for the welcoming of the new messiah. i hope no black helicopters show up at where i live after i said this.

Haha some people are genuinely sour grapes. I find it ironic that the PLAAF is the one trying to cover up the plane's existence but the conspiracy theorists dismiss the whole thing as CCP propaganda.

This Huitong guy is saying that the J20, is inferior to the F22 in electronics and supercruise. I could accept the supercruise part even some flight performance but inferior in the electronics???? aplane thats a couple of decades or so newer is inferior in the electronics dept................is he for real?

Wow that cockpit and canopy looks small... though it's probably just the angle.
I like how CAC has given this plane the whole simple, dark paint scheme. Very menacing. Looks better than the PAK FA's weird fragmented grey scheme and as cool as the F-22's grey camo.

I hope production models follow a similar idea and don't take the whole "black nose" route which PLAAF seems to be so fond of.

Again, don't take everything he says for gospel. I mean the F-22's radar and FBW is pretty damn advanced and China is still playing catch up (though they seem to have caught up with the Russians, and are leading in a few areas). If J-20 can get an AESA as good as the F-22's APG-77 it'll be a good feat.
In terms of the cockpit layout it'll obviously be far more modern than the F-22's multiple screen layout -- probably a single screen display like F-35.

I'm curious if the J-20 will have a 360 degree sensor layout like the F-35 or PAK FA though. Something like the DAS on J-20 could be very useful, and I'd prefer such a system over the T-50's multiple AESA arrays as DAS is passive and better against stealthy targets.
Does anyone have any info on J-20's sensor suite aside from the main AESA?
