Tbf, Tejas is a practical match for Armenia.
Provided it works.
-It's small and fits in old mig-21 penals, and overall is relatively easy to hide;
-It's modern enough to prosecute PD intercepts/deliver tactical stand off strike - and other than certain lack of p:w, it fits exact Armenian needs well (it was built just for that);
-It's affordable, and India is desperate enough for first customer to offer one hell of a deal, maybe even compared to ODKB internal ones;
-It uses key Russian weapons or almost certainly can be made to accept them very fast(original Astra seeker comes from Russia).
It's certainly more reasonable procurement than huge Su-30sms, which are completely out of place in a country you barely can switch on reheat over. The main con is of course exact same why no one other than Armenia buys Indian weapons. They, excuse me, s*ck, and for decades struggle to show visible improvement.
It doesn't mean all is lost, and at some point bad reputation usually stops matching reality, but first customer needs to be in despair to place such risky bets.
