With an investment exceeding 10 billion yuan, the Pioneer Group's high-end semiconductor equipment manufacturing project has commenced construction.​


The Southwest Production Base Project for High-End Semiconductor Equipment Manufacturing of the Leading Group officially commenced construction in Anju District, Suining. As Suining's first major project with an investment exceeding 10 billion yuan in the past three years, this project, upon completion, will effectively fill the technological gap in the domestic high-end semiconductor equipment manufacturing field. This signifies that Suining will establish its own distinctive benchmark in the semiconductor industry landscape.

According to the investment plan, the project has a total investment of 10.6 billion yuan and covers an area of approximately 150 mu. After the first phase of production is completed, it is expected to achieve an annual output value of 5.3 billion yuan and annual tax revenue of approximately 150 million yuan, helping to achieve a breakthrough in the domestic production of high-end semiconductor equipment from scratch, realizing domestic substitution, and completing the semiconductor equipment manufacturing industry chain in Sichuan Province.

Furthermore, according to Suining Observer, Hou Zhenfu, co-president of Lead Technology Group Co., Ltd., further outlined the company's multi-dimensional layout in Suining: on the one hand, promoting the implementation of projects such as functional ceramic materials and hydrogen energy materials in Anju, realizing "secondary investment"; on the other hand, coordinating development with local "industrial neighbors" such as electronic circuits and integrated circuits to form a cluster effect; at the same time, it will also achieve local support with upstream enterprises such as natural gas helium extraction and sulfuric acid production, and improve the closed loop of the industrial chain.

On July 11, the signing ceremony for the cooperation project between the Anju District People's Government of Suining City and Guangdong Pioneer Rare Materials Co., Ltd. was successfully held, marking the official landing of the Pioneer Group's Southwest Production Base for Semiconductor High-end Equipment Manufacturing in Anju with a total investment of over 10 billion yuan.

Gigadevice looks like it will have a second production line at CXMT to fab new DRAMs. I think Gigadevice might be the only one that is fabbing its designed DRAM chips at CXMT. everything else is CXMT internal product. So the two of them are doing "design + fab" collaboration

GigaDevice is China's largest NOR supplier & second largest DRAM supplier nd it is in both Tesla & BYD's supply chain. It has 1.88% share in CXMT and its DRAM designs are solely fabb'd by CXMT until 2030.

Also documents where other Chinese memory chip companies that are listed are at including Shenzhen Kaifa, Biwin & Longsys.

Shenzhen Kaifa is China's largest independent packaging and testing company. It gets a lot of orders from CXMT. It also provides testing & packaging service to YMTC. In 2025, it achieved 95% yield for 192 layer NAND. It also works with Samsung, SK and Micron.

Longsys I think is the biggest one in design, packaging and product for 3D Hand. It works with YMTC, Samsung and micron.

lol seems everyone is developing their own supernode in China. No company wants to use his competitors system I guess. I believe many more companies will also come up with theirs soon.

my update on the status of YMTC. Note that it has already seen market share risen to 9% as of Q2. It is currently having 40% capacity on 294L and that will increase to 60% in 2026. Its first fully domestic production line is in trial production and it expects to produce 30k wpm (which is pretty significant). Work has started on its 3rd fab, which will bring its production capacity eventually from 200k (sometime next year) to 300k when 3rd fab is fully ramped. I expect it to bring up new fab location soon to continue its expansion at the same time that the big 3 are slowing down NAND capacity to focus on HBM and DRAM.

Piotech & AMEC have really benefitted from YMTC's all domestic approach.
