J-20 5th Gen Fighter Thread VIII

its now GaN-on-Sic radar.. which is way way ahead in comparison with base version GaN.
Hence is it reasonable to assume that the current J-20A radar should have a significant advantage over the first generation radars being rolled out by other nations, including Kaan and presumably F-35 blk4?

I mean, I posted the stuff about Gan-on-Sic radar a couple of month ago. it is said to be 3x for the original J-20 radar.
I've encountered some articles on the topic as well: these are the developments I was referring to when mentioning the multiple-fold improvements in performance over baseline GaN radars.

I wrote the word "potential" with bolded letters for a reason.
Actually, the potential is being blocked by cooling restrictions, which Gan-on-Sic technology could unlock. Hence if the range statements are true, the latest J-20 radar might very well use Gan-on-Sic.

I meant what tphuang wrote on it..
I mean they said

that's all I have on this topic. I don't know enough to say too much more except that we also got news on GaN-on-diamond being tested out. I'm just a guy following technology online.

If you are looking at how much difficult US Is having with even putting APG-85 on F-35, PLA's advantage here is going to be pretty large for a few years.
