PLA drop the height of foot tiptoe from 30 to 25cm, and the arm stop at chest not shoulder since 1950s.Theres also something about the PLA goose step style that looks more impressive than those seen in the military parades of all other countries, though I can't quite put my finger on what exactly is the actual difference. The only marching styles that even come close are the more recent DPRK parades and the 1970s/1980s ROC parades. Russian goose step style is visibly different and less synchronized/precise. However, the parade step of Vietnam, Mongolia, and Kazakhstan (as well as a few other ex-Soviet republics) look outwardly very similar to the PLA style but for some reason just doesn't look as quite as mechanically smooth or give off the same overall awe-inspiring impression.
Vietnam and NK keeps those Russian standards which is not suitable for Asian.
To maintain balance, NK soldiers need to "jump" for each step and Vietnamese have to tilt their heads back, which is very awkward as they are marching forward.
