China does not have a track record of deception during parades, and its development budget is such that it doesn’t have to. These parades have traditionally been used to showcase new equipment, and unlike Iran and certain other countries, the equipment should all be taken seriously.

I am warm to the idea of a nuclear-powered UUV because there is no chance for conventional UUVs to keep up with even SSKs in open ocean tasks. The scaling law just dictates that. That AJX-002 could emerge as a multi-purpose platform. Nuclear deterrence, kamikaze UUV missions, mobile underwater modem, etc...
You forgot there is another larger UUV shown, much more complete with sensors and masts. AJX-002 might just be a large torpedo with global range as it lacks any sensor mast or conformal sensors nor does it have a towed array.
