Some rumors about a multi warhead missile with HGVs, perhaps similar config to the Pioneer except with HGVs? Atleast Cute Orca posted a pic of the Pioneer's triple warhead and refused the elaborate.
Sounds like our cetacean friend might be hinting to an operational evolution of what Western sources — namely the Financial Times (, ) — claim the PLARF to have tested in 2021.
According to FT:
On July 27 the Chinese military launched a rocket that used a “fractional orbital bombardment” system to propel a nuclear-capable “hypersonic glide vehicle” around the earth for the first time, according to four people familiar with US intelligence assessments.
What the PLARF tested in 2021 was reportedly launched from a Long March rocket — presumably of the liquid fueled variety — though that may or may not be the case here.
