For sure the u9 is fast, thats never been an issue for EVs. Weight of the batteries plus how they designed it for more luxury than performance impacts how it responds to driver input as well as how it handles turns.
Do you fundamentally understand why it’s batteries are that heavy?

I've been looking down on Li Auto for years because of my personal dislike for their founder, their big ugly SUVs, and focus on crappy range extension

But their sales have always stayed strong despite all the hate.

But now it seems they're finally starting to take a hit, especially with the recent controversy of Li Auto owners having poor manners

Haven't been following NEV market for a long time but it seems like Geely is really shaping up to be the mass market competitor for BYD, like Mcdonalds vs KFC.

Xpeng and Leapmotor still doing well, Nio seems to be having a bit of a comeback

Do you think Chery, Changan and Avatr have the potential to be among the top brands?

Personally I think Li Auto big SUVs (L6, L7, L8, L9) looks better than Aito big SUVs (M7, M8, M9).

Personally I hate all big SUVs. Total waste of money, resources, and baby killers in cities. I even think most of China's sedans are too large.

Chery and Changan are already pretty much usually top 3-5 in China. But among the two, I favour Changan more to become the solid number 3 or number 2 in the future.

The fact that they cancelled their merger with Dongfeng and got spun off to become a full central SOE (in an era of mergers) speaks volumes that the central government believes in them. They are likely going to get a lot more support to expand from now on. And personally I just think they have nicer design language.

Chery still gives off a ragtag feel. Their design language is all over the place, product planning is all over the place, still constantly creating and killing off new brands. Almost seems like they don't really have a plan. Though their main advantage is that they have been dabbling overseas markets much longer than Changan.

Avatr is just a niche brand with niche design. I think it will be moderately successful but definitely won't be a big brand.

Of all the stores I visited, I found Li Auto sales guy to be the best. Know all his shit and how to sell the attributes of their models. Li Auto has great product fit and understanding of customer base.

the problem is that they don’t have any edge on the market and this space is getting too crowded.

Why do you think Li Auto owners have poor manners? This is what some people are claiming on social media. Most likely some people are jealous of the success of Li Auto and their supporters.

Of course I don't think all Li Auto owners have poor manners.

I dislike Li Auto for the reasons I stated, not for manners. I'm just saying that the manners issue recently is cooking up some controversy, and Li Auto sales seems to be finally getting into a bit of trouble, especially with the poor launch of Li Mega and i8
