Modi is the architect of toxic viral hate of China in India today. They also go out of there way to export most of that hate of China to the West thru all spectrums of media which is controlled by BJP. Just search China news on Youtube, the negative news is all Godron Chang and BJP media.
They have always played spoiler for instability in the region and are on bad terms with almost all of their neighbours.
Everyone deserves a chance but talks and gestures are not enough, there should be real substantial actions.
India has systematically scuttled all Chinese led trans-national efforts for regional and international stability such as SCO and BRICS. Both these forums had great potential but today theyve been reduced to tea parties due to Indian belligerence.
Talks should always be welcomed, but only real, tangible, measurable actions should count.
Rafales would in a way controbute to this timeline, lol, what a time to be alive.

I get what you are saying but the Indian way of pursuing self interest is always just vulgar and overtly self beneficial. These people act like Americans but they don't have any of that power. So I don't expect them to reach a deal with China simply for the fact that they seem to think that they are entitled to everything they want for some reason. What a drug fascism is.....

I think China should drive a hard bargain economically like all Chinese apps unbanned and tariffs on China removed type of stuff. The best use of India for China is to force them to use Chinese products and apps and extract profits out of them.
Trump as we all know has been on a pretty succesful domestic PR blitz, supposedly printing trade deals faster than the Fed's printing US dollars and reorienting the global trade order. This map shows what's really up.
So yes, it is reoriented in a way. With allied US countries and other nations reliant on US exports like Vietnam signing deals of economic vassalage, while the global south with their baseline rates will instead not only turn to the Chinese market but come to rely on Chinese support to fend off the economic bullying from Washington.

In theory, a strong relationship with India would be of huge benefit to any country as it's a rising power, and has huge economic potential. In reality though, India's self serving nature isn't something that can be worked with, and no country has ever benefitted in a long term relationship with them. Russia/the Soviet Union have the longest friendly relations and India hasn't been a stable partner for them.
Also, look at all the multinationals that tried to enter into India and do business there. Most of them have left in defeat, and nobody is getting much from the experience. While I don't think that a larger deal with China is impossible, I think that any real progress is unlikely. It just comes from a combination of India refusing to negotiate on any of the key underlying issues and China just not being all that interested in dealing with India's nonsense. And this won't change unless India makes some major changes to the way they deal with China. While this may be something that a theoretical leader in India can arrange, it's not possible for Modi and the BJP.
This isn't what China wants from India though. China gains very little economically from this kind of bargain, and India could impose new bans at any time. No, what China really needs are things like reaffirmation of the Indus Waters Treaty, the settlement of the disputed borders, the release of Bhutan's autonomy, and the relaxing of India-Pakistan relations. With these in place, China can then deal with India like a normal country and arrange win-win politics. But outside of the Indus Waters, I can't see India being willing to even talk about any of the major issues.
Also, I'd like to point out that China doesn't like making one-sided deals, even ones that strongly favor themselves. They see this kind of deal as inherently unstable and are unable to sustain long term friendly relations.
It feels like a typical Indian move. Philippines can't offer anything that India needs, but it can offer validation, which is what India craves. Unfortunately, this comes at the cost of relations with China, and these relations should be far more important. A smart Indian strategy would be to downplay warming Filipino ties until a big deal with China, but India will always prefer instant gratification to smart strategy.This is like absolutely outrageous!
