The Americans and their allies have been commiting atrocities in the Middle East for decades. And that has only picked up in the last two decades after 9/11 just look at what they did in Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Libya, Yemen, Syria and Lebanon. But they were able to sweep the results of those past atrocities under the carpet.
They can't do that with Gaza because the Palestinians have a lot of sympathizers in the West that are willing to speak up for them unlike the Afghans, Iraqi's, Syrians and others. The situation in Gaza is also far worst than the previous cases because the people of Gaza have nowhere to flee to and the territory is heavily urbanized and densely populated. And then there is the advancement of technology and the more prominent role that social media is playing in the lives of people today and in the lives of the people of Gaza unlike in the past or in some of the more remote area's in the world. Then there is the rise of the alternative media that gives people around the world a different perspective than the mainstream government approved narrative on what is happening in the world.
