I also thought that J-20A and S would all be of black livery, not shiny camo. Are these prototype airframes, or will some of the newer variants be in the old colours too?

If you don't look too hard, the J-20S could almost be mistaken for a single-seater -- the long fuselage and distance between wing and cockpit makes for some strange proportions

Not sure this is the correct conclusion since this angle makes the plane look a lot shorter than it actually is.

A and S look proportionally better with the enhanced bump behind the cockpit. It doesn't give the J-20 that weird "long" fuselage look before.

Is the radar on the J-20A more advanced than GaN radar? Like GaO radar?

Is it more advanced than even the F-35 block 4 radar coming up?

J-20A radar is probably GaN on SiC.

GaN radar array is certainly bigger on the J-20 than the array that could fit in the F35 but its hard to compare capabilities. Power available and cooling for the radar is possibly better on J-20, F-35 have trouble with that aspect and without real engine upgrades, not sure how they will manage block 4.
