No, Russia is quite strong.

People didn't realize 2 things. Modern armies are too tiny to fight major countries and win easily. The last big wars that happened during the cold war and ww2 had millions of soldiers. Russia only started with 150k. All Ukraine had to do was mobilize its reserves and Russia was outnumbered.

Secondly, drone warfare has made armored warfare completely useless. In the past the expectation was, armored maneuver warfare was the way to go. Now it's back ww1 style grind.

If you compare Russian strength in terms of military production, force reconstitution and economic resilience against western sanctions, its pretty obviously no one in Europe or western vassals like Japan or Korea can come close to this level of military strength.

Only China, US and Russia are on this level.

If I'm being honest with you, it sounds like a whole bunch of excuses to me. Like someone said earlier, they need to stop talking and start doing.

Fighting high intensity combat for 3 years is what doing looks like. Unlike US giving up after 1 month against yemen and 2 weeks against Iran.

Who else has fought a war for 3 years in the last 50 years? No one. No US insurgency fighting in Afghanistan and Iraq doesn't count.

I don't see how they talk so tough when they die like any other human when shot in the head. Japan couldn't even beat China when it had a collapsed dynasty and was in civil war for like a century. So I really don't get their confidence.

But it doesn't matter because dead men tell no tales. You probably haven't heard of Azov or those ultranationalists from Ukraine yapping as much these days. That's coz they are all dead now. A lot of Baltic states and even Poland have quieted down compared to before because now they actually have the chance to put their mouth where it's at and fight Russia and yet they feel hesitant on doing so.

Russia must also maintain a large and credible strategic reserve guarding against any potential direct attack by NATO. Ukraine losing a foothold within Russia is huge from several perspectives and probably muted such thought exercises within NATO.

It certainly not high intensity combat. It only to extent that Zelenski government stays afloat per agreement with former Israeli Prime Minister. once that agreement expires than it will switch to effective combat. No one knows the full content of that agreement.
Saudis have opened new embassy in Moscow sign of increase confidence. This wont happen unless what i described above.
