Bonnie Blue is very versatile too. Doesn’t mean you want to marry her. Since fighter acquisition is such a politically and militarily important business I’d suggest practicality over versatility.

It's extremely versatile. No Chinese or American fighter intercepts enemy missiles with their fuselage like Rafales.

Rafale is not very versatile. It lacks any meaningful SEAD capability and can't even fire HARM. Its anti-ship weapon (Exocet) is obsolete. Its selection of PGM (HAMMER) is unimpressive by modern standards. There are no SDB equivalent that allows for magazine depth.

Its a thoroughly mediocre aircraft those only selling point is the relative lack of political strings and a willingness to grease palms.
