concerning China's offer to sell the J-35, HQ-19 and KJ-500 to Pakistan was one of a series of five tweets enumerating achievements credited to the sitting Pakistani PM.

All five tweets appear to have been deleted by the

which had posted them.

IMHO it's possible, if not likely that all five tweets got deleted over one of the more controversial achievements credited to the Pakistani PM which relevant authorities would now like to "walk back" from.

So this deletion probably got nothing to do with any potential arms sales from Beijing to Islamabad.
I am pretty sure they were never supposed to post it, they didnt just delete that 1 arms deal one but others too.
This sort of military news never becomes public on twitter, either someone Military spox announces it or you see it on the induction ceremony one day.
The timing coincided when DG of Pakistan intelligence service was in china too.
I have put some feelers out tho

The Pakistani Defence Minister had something to say about this in an interview on Geo News. The interview is in Urdu but I've tried to translate it the best I can.

Q. You mentioned China, we already shot down Indian Rafale jets and now they're saying that Pakistan is getting 40 J-35 stealth jets and China has decided that she will give them to Pakistan. As Defence Minister, will you confirm that this is going to happen?

A. See Shahzeb, as Defence Minister I'm not supposed to talk on these subjects about what are we acquiring, what have we acquired and what are our capabilities. It's better if all these things remain under the wraps. But if India is getting an itch from it (the Punjabi term khurak in this context means an itch in the ass) that they're saying that Pakistan is getting jets, 40 jets of the latest version of JF jets [sic] from China then I think you should let their anxiety increase. Let their uneasiness increase, let their worries and concern increase.

Regardless, Pakistan has the right to acquire anything. For her defence, until the time the hostilities remain between us, the hostilities remain in this region If India wants this race to end, then solve the Kashmir issue, normalise the relationship. Kashmir issue is not bilateral anymore. I'd argue that after Trump's offer, this issue has become internationalised. And secondly if they can suspend or open IWT despite the fact there doesn't exist a clause in treaty for them to do so. And whether this initiative of theirs was good or not, that's a future discussion. But similarly as it was agreed in the Simla Agreement that we shall discuss this issue bilaterally then we can forego that as well.

Why does it need to be bilateral then? If a superpower like America, which has played a part in the recent conflict then it should play a part in other matters as well. It's a good thing if a fight breaks out somewhere then the elders come in to stop the fighting and they talk about peace and reconciliation, there's no harm in that. And as far as arms acquisitions are concerned, that's our right and we will acquire the most modern equipment. We in this current budget have substantially increased the defence budget. And we shall put forth all our national resources effectively for our national defence, that is our right.

Came across a relevant rendering in context, but a couple of points stand out:
  • Kızılelma – Status still unclear.
  • KAAN – Induction very unlikely until it's configured with an indigenous engine (or a viable alternative).

This is a fan made graphic so no need to take it seriously. I wouldn't be surprised however if the weapon systems shown in this do come one day.

What will KAAN provide that J35 can't, it's seems like a expensive redundancy for me. From the looks of thing J35 will ate KAAN for breakfast as the latter is just a 4.5 fighter not a true 5th Gen.
Not quite. PAF is apparently very happy with the knowledge the Turks have of F-35's systems and wants something like that in her fleet. KAAN also stems from Project Azm which if it had gone through would've looked a lot like something between the J-20 and YF-23. Things happened which led to the shelving of that project and now KAAN is there to serve a replacement to Azm. Plus PAF is wise to maintain a multi-vendor fleet. The model with canards was supposed to be Azm.

There are no more F16 seats in this house!
I don't think so. There's 75 Vipers in PAF inventory, there's 139 3rd gen jets and add 50 of the older JF-17s which may need to be retired in a few years time as well. That's 254 jets that PAF needs to worry about in the coming years and there's no chance in hell that we give up perfectly fine Vipers for presumably 3x sqns of J-10s, 2x sqns each of KAAN and J-35 and the rest to be filled by JF-17.

More than likely talks about upgrading those Vipers to V or Ozgur II standard and buying either new Vipers or used ones to upgrade are happening as we speak. The Viper is a good plane, flies well, there's a long cadre that has been trained on it, multiple bases are set-up to host it and there's no need to replace them when they can be upgraded instead. Only in the case of US not allowing an upgrade or a new buy to go forth is that situation going to come which seeing the current geo-political environment seems unlikely. It's a NATO jet so it works out of the box with our Erieyes and TPS-77s and if the KAAN is set up the same then it will work naturally with it too. Plus with how things are going with 4th gen jets, I expect it to be in the Pakistani centenary celebrations and serving well past that too.

The one on the left looks an awful lot like a Su-57?.
