Not to say this is my personal answer to your question, but others have suggested that the situation in question (the condition of India v. the socioeconomics of Indian-Americans) is a result of selective immigration.

The argument is more or less that only the best and brightest Indians are usually able to immigrate to the West in general and the US in particular, and these "best and brightest Indians" and their progeny tend to outperform the average American.

This is a somewhat controversial position, but nevertheless worth considering.

Assessing means there will be behind the scenes talks. If China just waited another month or so then there will be shortages in the US and China will have in a much stronger position on the negotiation table. Or better yet don't talk at all and just let the US economy rip. America made a serious mistake with Liberation Day and China should not give America the breathing room that she is giving her now.

Assessing such complex matter is highly time consuming process, who knows it may take more than three months to work out the basics like which brand of tea we should use in our negotiation meetings

This is a pretty high and mighty retort saying that America really wants to negotiate with us. We have received that request and we will think about whether or not we will give them that chance. It's kinda bitchy-cute actually.

And also, China doesn't want to tell the US to F off publically either to look super tough because it rather enjoys having the whole world view it as the responsible party, NOT the country trying to go for the kill shot on the other one. Because in the end, I think the US will see its economic power diminished and it will feel quite mortal after this round with China, but it's not the last nail in the coffin yet so China's not gonna be throwing the kitchen sink at it.
