if i m not wrong, Mach diamond just started to appear in last one year on different PLAAF platforms. also seen on J-35..

good sign in Aero Engine manufacturing.
Mach loops refer to what happens when a jet surges past the speed of sound - so it's not that there's been some magical advance in engines, it's just that Chinese photographers have gotten better permission or their "shooting" skills have gotten better. :cool:

I see that Russia has developed a flat nozzle for su-57. Chinese 6th gen planes also have flat nozzles. Is there any attempts at developing flat nozzles for j-20b with ws-15 as well?

Mach Loop is a location in the UK.

Shock diamonds (aka Mach diamonds) are a result of the exhaust and pressure interacting in a certain way in certain conditions. Both J-20 and J-35A were subsonic when these images were snapped :)
