Russia goes far ahead of UK and France just based on economy size and military alone.
I mean the Russia/China vs France/US stories in Africa are a micocosm of just how it would go if France clashed by itself against Russia.
Putting US ahead of China is also controversial with how far US is behind economically, even if they have a larger standing military and more countries under their control. Is it actually worth more to have a bigger peacetime military and more "yes men" nations when said yes men don't make up for the difference in economic power?

I'm no economist, but I'm not seeing how "new offshore trade" is any better than outsourcing.
It isn't, unless they can hide supply chains running through China via cooking the books. But, out sourcing is still better than not making any money at all, and it allows Chinese companies to participate in and develop global supply chains that aren't vulnerable to Western tariffs and sanctions.
The hit to domestic manufacturing will have to be addressed, most likely through the Chinese government redirecting capital gains from out sourcing towards domestic industries, which is equivalent to subsidizing.
But ask yourself this - what else can you do? The reality of economics is that consumers are just as important as producers. If the West shuts off its markets, then China must find alternate consumption sinks. You can't force countries to buy your stuff if they're willing to make their own citizens suffer in order to block trade. This is why China is investing in its domestic market and also in off shore suppliers.

Adding to this. There literally smuggling "industry" between borders of China and Vietnam. We talk about shit tons of good there. Which mean China can just offload anything to Vietnam assembly industry off the book no traces whatsoever. So China can just continue do their strategy: move to high end industry while offload their low tech pollutants industry to neighbours. Everyone have money. Win Win for us. This can also apply to Laos and Myanmar etc. So thing continue like always. If my hunch is true, the fallout from all of the Trump purges of US propaganda organs might be more widespread and devastating than one might have originally thought, if these hacks start flooding corporate US jobs markets and trying their old tricks and finding out just how transparent and pathetic they are, absolutely trashing the reputations of US companies stupid enough to hire them in the process.
Might be a fun little homework assignment for any budding investigative journalist here.
