Great news ... @高山CG on Weibo is working on a CG showing SAC's 6th generation fighter! In fact I still prefer to use the interim designation J-XDS instead of J-50, which IMO is an unlikely designation. Cannot wait for the final artwork!

Is he having access to better sources or just pure speculation based on the few pics we have so far?
I remember at one point it was believed the white aircraft with an indentation between the intakes/engines was considered to be separate from the black aircraft of the similar shape. (the white one being unmanned?)
Is that consensus not valid anymore? Are now big shrimps in China considering imagery of both aircraft (black and white one) to actually be showing the very same plane?

If that's remotely close to the actual thing it's a beautiful aircraft imo. Less chonky than the CAC one
The CGI is obviously based on the author's personal estimation of whatever video/imagery we have and may not be representative of the actual thing. I still strongly believe that there are 2+ prototypes and that the black prototype is distinct from the white one; in fact I don't grasp how people fail to see this.
The personal opinion of "草根" is that the groove is there for aerodynamic testing only and might not be present on the production variant.
My theory is that the groove is over-emphasized by AI image processing and might not actually be prominent on the black airframe.
I'm gonna say it, this plane looks much better (if it will look similar to this) than J-36
